Barbara Mattingly and Harriett Ballard are passionate about helping individuals create captivating and inspiring environments. By listening to each clients’ needs and desires, a success plan is created with mutual participation to establish the foundation and principles for successful design within your desired budget. They work meticulously to create chic interiors and collaborates with you to achieve beautiful designs with function and balance.
We will meet with clients either at their location or at the boutique. The consultation allows us to get to know you and your project needs, budget and timeline. It may consist of gathering measurements, acquiring photos of your space or simply just guiding you on design suggestions for a new look on your own.

Barbara’s is a unique furniture boutique located in historic Bardstown, KY. The two story historic
shop invites you to browse eclectic collections of home furnishings and gifts. Barbara and Harriett have been sharing their passion for design and home detail since 1985. They are excited to guide you into making your house a beautiful HOME for you and your family. Their theory on design is to introduce new paint palettes while weaving new furnishings and accessories into your existing room settings. Barbara’s specializes in custom draperies, blinds, shutters, area rugs, wallcoverings and gorgeous light fixtures. Growing up in Bardstown, Barbara and Harriet have a true respect for the traditional styling of their community. They are excited to share their transitional approach to design. They would love to consult with you for new construction, renovations and interior updates by providing you with the resources and expertise to “decorate your life.”
